Where does the money raised during Aqua Girl® go?

As the largest charity women’s week in the country, your participation in Aqua Girl® contributes to a very good cause. In fact, 100% of the proceeds from Aqua Girl® benefit Aqua Foundation for Women, a not-for-profit foundation whose primary mission is to serve as a funding catalyst for lesbian, bisexual, and transgender wellness and equality in South Florida through grants, scholarships, and initiatives.

Over the past six years AFW has given out over $369,000 in grants and scholarships while empowering hundreds of women to be engaged in our community.

 

How old do I have to be to go to Aqua Girl®?

All of our events are 21 and over with proper ID except for the Lady Luck Bowlathon, the Comedy Show, and the Paradise dance party which are 18 and over with proper ID.

Some events have a dress code. What does this mean?

We will be visiting some of the hottest nightclubs and venues in Miami and South Beach. We ask that Aqua Girl® guests dress to impress at our evening nightclub events. That means no flip flops, athletic sneakers (new designer sneakers are okay), shorts, baggy jeans, ripped t-shirts, athletic jerseys, sweat pants, and baseball caps.

What if I am disabled, can I still attend the events?

All events are ADA compliant, if you have any special needs please contact our office and we will do everything possible to accommodate you.

 

Can men attend?

Our paramount concern is to provide a safe and positive environment for LBT women to socialize and network.  We do encourage gay gentlemen to attend our events, especially our co-ed Aqualicious Tea Dance on  Sunday afternoon. We also do allow men to attend if escorted by a women. We just ask for everyone to show respect to each other.

 

What if I don’t have a car?

Stay at our host hotel, the Doubletree Surfcomber, and sit back and relax. All events will be walking distance from the host hotel or we will provide shuttle service at just $5 a day.
